I worked at a golf course for 8 years, the reel mowers striped like this. Firm ground + big softly inflated turf tires prevented tire marks and the bed bars + rollers left stripes
Some of it is the scag with roller. Some of it is the sod. Some of it is experience. It all comes with trial and error. I have a push and made my own roller with pvc pipe, sand, and a few clips. I got a new mower and had to relearn how to strip better. Each set up is different

Tire marks are going to exist no matter what. The key thing in your picture is that the grass has grown out a week or two. Change the direction every time you cut and you should see similar results. (All things being equal) 10 yr Crew Foreman.

I get pretty good lines. I cut it around 3 1/2-4″. Also grass type matters. I spent the last few years overseeding with TTTF.

Maybe you’re cutting too short. The longer, the better. Also go over your stripes twice.
What grass and name of vendor you use? I like to get their seeds

It’s the quality of the mower.
Show some pictures of your lawn… maybe we can help. He may also have perennial ryegrass which stripes like crazy. Personally I can’t quite tell.

Mine is at 23mm and same stripes as OP photo. Using a Webb weh12r. Manual reel mower. 100sqm so I can get away with using it, can be sweaty in summer.

Looks like he’s just mowing high and rolling it. Mows over the same stripe couple of times probably.
